Kolej Tunku Jafaar (KTJ)

Kolej Tuanku Ja’afar is a British-style international school founded in 1989 by the royalty of Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, welcoming its first students in 1991. The lush green campus spans approximately 320,000 square meters (about 79 acres), featuring excellent science, arts, and sports facilities. The Primary and Secondary programs follow the English National Curriculum, preparing students for IGCSE and A-Levels while developing expression, leadership, and collaboration skills through diverse electives and co-curricular activities (CCA).

Early Years

KTJ Primary’s Early Years program (Nursery/Reception) is based on the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) and the UK’s “Development Matters,” nurturing independence and curiosity in children aged 3-5. The program values the emergence of “joy in learning” and supports holistic development in an environment that respects each child’s individuality from the moment they enroll.

Primary

KTJ Primary (Years 1-6) delivers a broad curriculum based on the British National Curriculum, covering Mathematics, English, Science, ICT, Art, Music, and Physical Education—all taught in English. The program emphasizes inquiry-based learning, developing student initiative and critical thinking while building strong foundations in each subject. Learning alongside students from diverse backgrounds naturally fosters international perspectives and collaboration skills.

Secondary

KTJ Secondary follows the British National Curriculum through Middle School (Years 7-9), IGCSE (Years 10-11), and A-Level preparation in Sixth Form (Years 12-13). Beyond academics, abundant extracurricular activities and leadership opportunities allow students to develop their individual interests and talents. The school provides comprehensive support including English language assistance, counseling, and health services. KTJ emphasizes developing “KTJ Learner Characteristics,” nurturing not just academic ability but also critical thinking, responsibility, flexibility, and other essential life skills.
